Young Women’s Employablity Project

The Women’s Workshop is running an employability project aimed at helping young women in the North Northumberland area find work and move into sustainable employment. Our goal is to help women aged between 18-25 to make positive steps towards their future whilst providing a safe, supportive and social environment where they can grow and learn. We offer a wide range of opportunities where you can learn new skills, meet new friends, build confidence and receive personalised one-to-one mentoring or coaching to help you make the positive steps towards a brighter future.

No matter what your needs are there’s something for everyone. Some of the things we can offer you are:

  • Job application help
We can help you with every step of the process from writing a CV, searching for a job, applying for a job or interview help.
  • Workshops or short accredited courses
These events will help you learn new skills, new knowledge and to explore new topics are areas you may not have had the opportunity to pursue before. The courses and sessions we have run in the past include creative writing, construction and practical skills, peer mentoring, self-care and wellness, and arts and crafts such as felting, painting, clay sculptures, and willow crafts.

  • Regular mentoring and support sessions
You will be assigned a mentor who will meet with you regularly and help you set and meet your own personal goals and build your confidence. These will be individual to you and will help you discover where you want to be in life and will give you advice and guidance on how to get there.
