Practical and Emotional Support Skills Training – 2024

This course takes learners through a process of exploring and developing the skills and knowledge needed to support women who may be facing challenges in their lives. The course is tailored to enable participants to join our mentoring team on completion, which can be a paid or voluntary role within our organisation, or they may choose to use their skills in another setting.

The course provides participants with a Level 2 Certificate in IAG (Information Advice or Guidance), and also a Level 2 qualification in ‘Steps to Employment, Training and Personal development.’ It can provide a useful stepping stone towards a career in working with people. We run Zoom sessions once a week, and pair up participants to spend time between taught sessions offering one-to-one support to each other so they can practice their skills throughout the programme.

Learners can find all the resources they need to complete the course work for each session here, and new resources will be added as the course progresses.
