Speak For Yourself Film Launch!

Created by Women’s Workshop & Funded by Comic Relief

Following on from our successful HERitage project in which we showcased an art exhibition and our very own play “Sticky Toffee Pudding and Butterscotch Sauce”, we are proud to be presenting our very own “Speak For Yourself” film festival which highlights, identifies & amplifies rural women’s voices.

Our collection of short films have been made by women from Northumberland and for the next week (from 24th Aug), we will be presenting our films online. Films will be posted on our website and we are welcoming everyone to share on social media. We also aim to share our films with North East policymakers to make real changes to the issues women face.

Our short films have been edited by Michelle Fox who is an experienced filmmaker, committed to living and working in the North East. Michelle has been amazing in helping support this project and we have loved working with her.

Here is our festival launch film, ‘Speak For Herself’ created by JoJo Kirtley & Louise Clay which includes an insight into why it is important for women to speak out!
