Practical and Emotional Help Skills Training – 2024
This course takes learners through a process of exploring and developing the skills and knowledge needed to support people who may be facing challenges in their lives. The course is tailored to enable participants to join our mentoring team on completion, which can be a paid or voluntary role within our organisation, or to support people through other helping organisations.
The course provides participants with a Level 2 Certificate in IAG (Information Advice or Guidance), It can provide a useful stepping stone towards a career in working with people. We run Zoom sessions once a fortnight, and pair up participants to spend time between taught sessions offering one-to-one support to each other so they can practice their skills throughout the programme. Learners also achieve a Level 2 Award in Steps to Employment, Training and Personal Development.
Learners can find all the resources they need to complete the course work for each session here.
