It would be great to see you at the ‘Women Going Public’ event on Mon 5th Dec from 11 – 1.30 at Cramlington Community Hub

This special event which is hosted by the Thriving Together Northumberland Women’s Network (NWN). The event will include three key themes:

• Women’s Right to Public Spaces

To mark the end of the 16 days of activism against violence against women and girls (VAWG) and building on the Safer Parks initiative, we will explore how women and policy makers can play a part in ensuring that public spaces are safe and inclusive for all women. With Kim McGuinness, Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner

• Neurodivergent Women’s Rights

In 2022, the theme for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December is ‘Not All Disabilities are Visible.’ We are planning a workshop focussing on how better to include neurodivergent and autistic women in every aspect of life.

• Rights of Girls and Young Women

The 2022 theme for Human Rights Day on 10th December is exploring ways to create a fairer society for future generations. We will focus on how to support young women and girls to get a fairer deal from future plans for our local economy and culture.

The themed sessions will end with the launch of NWN’s Activism Group.

There will be a light lunch and the chance to network at the end of the event.

There will also be an installation of Women’s Workshop artwork from our Safe Parks funded summer project at Hirst Park Ashington ‘Public Space is Women’s Space Too.’
