We are pleased to be participating in the Celebrating Trees project as part of the What a Wonderful Work event due to take place in Alnwick on 26th – 29th June.

Local people celebrate trees in paint, textiles, poetry, stories and more. We are delighted to be one of nine groups and some individuals who have worked with artist, Anna Corbett, to produce some fascinating multi-media work. Three of our women’s groups have been working an aspects of our contribution, from an environment, art and writing point of view, on the theme of ‘Women and Trees’.

Now we are working on bringing these elements together to create an item for the Celebrating Trees exhibition, following on from our Monday and Wednesday groups through June. You are welcome to join any or all of these sessions. Here is a video clip of our work so far.

The exhibition items will be on display at Alnwick Playhouse from 25th June – 7th July.

During the exhibition there will  be an opportunity to ‘Meet the Artists’. This will take place on Thursday 26th June between 1pm and 3pm and again on Tuesday 1st July between 10am and 12noon at the Alnwick Playhouse.
