This project uses drama, storytelling and writing to bring the histories to life of women who have been caught up in the justice system, using ideas from real stories of women who were in Newcastle Gaol. As part of this process, Women’s Workshop is one of several women’s groups who’ll help develop a character, who will become one of the main figures in the final immersive play. You will even get the chance to meet your character as they come to life, performed by a professional actor! No prior experience is needed—just an interest in women’s history or trying something new.

This project is being delivered by running two online workshops on Fridays 9^th and 16^th May, and then an in-person day where we pull together all our work to create a Northumberland character to feature in the final performance. If you’d like the link for the sessions email info@womensworkshop.net
