Summer Solstice Festival – Trip to Rock Art at Roughting Linn

Roughting Linn is one of the most remarkable rock art sites in Northumberland. It was carved in prehistoric times, but nobody knows exactly when or even why. Come and explore this ancient site, with an opportunity to discover the stories of some of the plants that surround it, and take part in some forest bathing.
Transport will be provided in two socially distanced minibuses, each seating six. One will leave from the Dovecote Centre, Amble at 5.30pm, the other will also leave at 5.30pm from Morrisons Car Park in Alnwick. We expect to return by 9pm at the latest.
Come prepared for weather, bring outdoor clothes and shoes, something to sit on. Anna will talk to the group about the site and the surrounding plants, and if the weather’s fine we’ll have a picnic, and try some forest bathing activities with Sue. If it’s not so good, we will stop for a snack and a drink on our return journey.
It’s essential to register for the trip and you can do that here – https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/InTheCyclesJune21
